Fun is still being had on school journey!  Lots of activities and happy children!

As you can see, from the fantastic pictures, the children are all having a great time with various activities. Food has been delicious and filling. We are hoping for a good night sleep tonight for ALL on the trip as we have an early start and another great day planned tomorrow.

What a fantastic second day we have had! Wonderful games being played, great team work and huge smiles.  We were also fortunate to have a large screen for the children to watch the football and you can watch the reactions in the video clip we have recorded.

All children are happy, well fed and enjoying their time in the beautiful countryside,

Another fantastic day for all! Wonderful weather, amazing activities, fantastic food- what more could we ask for.  The children enjoyed a campfire sing-song and lots of games. Time is flying by but we cannot wait for Thursday when the children will be donning their disco outfits with moves to impress.

What a day.   We couldn't have asked for a better day with the weather and the superb BBQ.  It was lovely to see the children get dressed up ready for the disco and show off their moves.  One more day left and the children have said how they want to stay more and how quick the time has flown by.  Back tomorrow and I am sure you will hear all about it!

Home learning will all be on Google classroom.

If you need details of how to use please email your child's class teacher.

Homework

Y6 homework will be set on a Friday and will be due in on the following Friday.

Each week we will set spellings on Spelling Shed, maths on Mathletics and reading on Bug Club.

We may also on occasions ask the children to complete mini projects.

Reading

At Isleworth Town, Reading VIPERS are used to support children with their reading comprehension skills. VIPERS are a range of reading prompts based on the 2016 reading Content Domain Areas (CDAs) found in the National Curriculum Test Framework. Each classroom will have the Reading VIPERS displayed in the reading area of their classroom and the class teacher will make explicit links to the skill the children will be learning about. This gives all children across the school a common language to discuss their reading knowledge and understanding.

All children will be working on VIPERS during class reading, whether it is reading as a class, in a small group, or one-to-one with an adult. It would be fantastic if parents could also be referring to VIPERS when they listen to their child read at home.

Question Openers

VIPERS can be used on any text that a child is reading, as well as on pictures, picture books and films! When any adult is listening to a child read, all they have to do is think of questions about the book/picture/film that cover all of the VIPERS, and there are great examples below of how you can create your own questions using the following question openers.
