PSHE

At Isleworth Town, our Personal, Social, Health and Economic (PSHE) education curriculum promotes our school vision of a community where everyone is valued and children become kind, confident and creative learners.

The aims of personal, social, health and economic (PSHE) education in our school are to:

● Provide a framework that is coherently planned and designed to equip all pupils (including disadvantaged pupils and those with special educational needs) with the knowledge, skills, attitudes and cultural capital needed to successfully manage their lives

● Effectively deliver the statutory units of Relationships education and Health education, as well as non-statutory units that ensure we provide a balanced and broadly-based curriculum which promotes spiritual, moral, social and cultural development, and mental and physical development of pupils at the school and of society

● Prepare pupils for the opportunities, responsibilities and experiences that they may encounter now and in later life, delivered through a spiral approach to teaching topics, such as: feelings and emotions, healthy relationships, valuing difference, rights and responsibilities, environment, money, healthy lifestyles, growing and changing, and keeping safe.

● Develop the qualities and attributes pupils need to thrive as individuals, family members and members of society

● Develop skills in personal effectiveness, interpersonal and social effectiveness, managing risk and decision making

● Promote the fundamental British Values in young lives

● Create a safe and supportive learning environment, where sensitive discussions can take place

Odd Socks Day - We wore odd socks to raise awareness for Anti-Bullying Week and celebrate what makes us unique!

Zones of Regulation - We use the Zones of Regulation to help us to recognise and manage our feelings. Year 1 read The Colour Monster and identified times when we have felt each emotion.

Living in the Wider World - Year 1 were learning about what money is used for and where it comes from. They learnt about how we can keep money safe and how to use money for things we need and things we want.
