Welcome to Seahorse Class Page
2014 - 2015
This term is already whizzing by. We have been learning all about growth and our senses. We have planted lots of seeds, designed the seed packets and then sold them alongside plants in our garden centre. Sometimes the shop has a half price sale. At other times inflation is terrible and all the prices are doubled. We have to work out the new prices. We are getting really good at it!
Whilst exploring the theme of senses we discussed the difference between savoury and sweet, and healthy and unhealthy foods, relating to taste. We made cheese biscuits and chocolate chip biscuits to help us think about this. We also made pizza dough and thought about different tastes, and our own likes and dislikes. We halved lots of the ingredients before putting them on our pizzas.
We have been using our fantastic writing skills to record the growth of plants, write recipes for pizza making and write the rules for our forthcoming trip to Kew Gardens. We are very excited about all we will see at Kew.
We have had an exciting visit from the police. They came and talked to us about what they do in the community, and showed us their van (siren included) and bicycle (no sirens there.) They also brought along two police horses, Oxford and Jedburgh, for the children to see, and some children even got to feed and stroke them! Do have a look at our photos.
Soon it will be sunhat weather we hope. Please continue to remember to bring in your water bottle everyday.
