Toys, Toys, Toys!
This half term our topic is Toys! We have been so busy in science using the the microscopes to look at different materials and sort them by their properties! We also have completed many scientific investigations looking at which material would make the best bouncy ball as well as holding a forces investigation where we looked at how a scooter moves through pushing and pulling it.
In D&T we have been designing and making our own sock puppets! Robin class really enjoyed this task and if you want to see our creations, they are hanging in the class window.
In maths we have started to look at money, in particular 1p, 2p, 5p, 10p, 20p, 50p, £1 and £2 coins. We are going to use our new found skills at the Toy Fair next Friday!
In English we have been writing our own lost toys stories. We are trying to remember to include out full stops, capital letters and finger spaces as well as beginning to use time connectives in our work!
I'm sure you have all heard about our upcoming play 'Wriggly Nativity'. The children have been rehearsing each week and are really putting their hearts and souls into their performance, I'm sure its going to be a great show!
