School Journey 2019

Monday 16th September 2019

The children have settled well after the short journey to Shenley Lane. After a short orientation around the site, the children enjoyed activities including the climbing wall, hoverboarding, archery, zorbing and den building. All ate a good meal and then enjoyed the evening activities of scrapheap challenge and it's a knockout!

Full English, fresh fruit, crumpets, toast and a range of cereal was a plentiful choice for breakfast and the children and staff needed it for what was looking like a busy day ahead. The previous night had seen most children sleep well and any that hadn't certainly will the next night with the action packed day ahead. The weather was set to be sunny and the children had activities such as kart building, crate stacking, karting and climbing to look forward to.

An afternoon packed full of more activities was to follow and the children were challenged with a quiz in the evening. It was safe to say the children's knowledge of current popular music and their ability to identify sweet wrappers was far superior than the teachers!

The teachers are very appreciative that this years group of children appear to enjoy a lie in. If only all of them would sleep through the night! All in all, the children are excelling themselves with their efforts during the activities and representing the school in a fantastic way. We are very proud of them meeting the challenges that are being set. Another day full of activities lies ahead. Keep checking the photo updates for a view of what we are up to.

The torches and night lights came to good use as even a 5 hour power cut couldn't dampen the spirits of the children and teachers. The children carried on regardless and were brilliant at coping with going to bed in the dark! It gave an excellent opportunity for a needed, slightly earlier night to bed. The teachers used the opportunity to tell Ms Miller ghostly nun stories and scare her in the magnificent old convent building in which they were staying!
