As part of William Shakespeare's 400th Anniversary celebrations, on Wednesday 27th April 2016, Macaw class put together the most fantastic Macbeth Assembly, under the directions of our fabulously talented class teacher Mrs Mutlow! Here are some highlights showing the talent of our children:

Text of the term -  Beowulf (Viking Saga)

All our work in Literacy, example: Writing Play Scripts, recounts, diary entries, Persuasive writing etc, is based on the text of the term.

Suggested reading : Some other Viking Sagas you could borrow from your library :

For Book Week we have put up a fantastic class display for our book corner, theme being myths and legends & Dreamtime aboriginal art. It does look fabulous!

Fantastic Friday dressed up as book characters! Meet Mr Stink, Persephone, Hera, Hulk, Jim Jarvis (from Street Child), Robin Hood........... Even Medusa looks lovely!!

Year 5 are going to endeavour to learn all their times tables up to 10 in six days!! From Friday 2nd October 2015, all pupils will be getting a set of multiplication facts for six consecutive days, to learn. Six set of facts once learnt will do wonders for not just for maths but for life!

It is extremely important to learn Times Tables

Learn your times tables the fun way!

During Maths we measured different food items containing carbohydrates. It is much easier to visualise quantities of things now.

Science : We have been learning about the parts of a flower. It was fun and fascinating to disect real daffodils, to find all the parts that we had seen in the diagrams.

Science - We observed what happened to pieces of chalk, when dropped in water and vinegar.

As part of the Science week (14/03/2016- 18/03/2016), we have been enjoying several activities! Trip to West Thames College was very informative and we were hands on with practical science. On Monday 14th March, a GP visited our class. It felt great to be able to see and touch some of the instruments and equipment used at our surgeries. Wednesday was lots of fun at a Science workshop, learning all about the importance of healthy choices in life. Here are some glimpses into our busy week!
