Macaw

Welcome to Year 5 - Macaw!

It is without doubt that year 5 is indeed a very exciting place to be, where else could you travel into space, be transformed to idillic countryside locations, produce beautiful art work of your environment, see an Aztec sacrifice, program your own animation and be back in time for homemade biscuits for tea and a bit of times table practice?!

In Macaw class you will be guided on this journey by Mr Evans and Miss Westlake but of course which direction it takes is often up to you.

What do Macaw class think...

Science:
'We looked at Solids, Liquids and Gases, I really liked it because we did all the experiments up close!' -Sophie

History:
'In history this year we have looking at how the Victorians lived. We found out about workhouses for the poor, Victorian toys, schools for the rich and poor and famous Victorians like Barnardo.' - Aaryaman

Geography:
'In Geography we have been learning about Grasmere, a little village in the Lake District. It's very nice, very quiet and very peaceful indeed... until all the tourists arrive!' - Jody
