Autumn Term 2016

LET'S CELEBRATE!

In the second part of the Autumn term we learnt about lots of different religions and the different ways that people celebrate.  We have identified many similarities between different celebrations.  We found that people usually dress in their finest clothes, celebrations are usually colourful and people usually sing or dance.  There is usually delicious food involved too!  We have been practising so hard for our Christmas production of 'Hey Ewe!' and we can't wait to share it with you!

Take a look at some of the things we have been up to so far this term:

Here we are gobbling up our party food and opening our pressies on Christmas party day!

We have been sharing objects into groups to help us with our division. Here are some of our Badgers doing it practically!

SENSATIONAL!

In the first part of this Autumn term we learn about our five senses and how our body uses each sense.  We think about what it would be like to lose one or more of our senses - we have some special visitors coming into school to help us with this.

Here we are practising our number bonds to 10 and 20!

We painted animal patterns on our hands! We loved using different colours to create patterns but it felt very tickly!

We used arrow cards to help us recognise the place value of each digit in a 2-digit number!

Here we are making our Tudor houses. Wait 'til you see what we do with them!

We created the Great Fire of London 1666 on our school field! I used our senses to create a wonderful description of what we could see, hear, smell, touch and taste!

We also made instruments. We had to use our sense of hearing to work out what sounds they made.
