Our topics for this half term were Anglo-Saxons and Different places, Similar lives!
We have been doing lot of learning around these topics: history, geography, science and technology.
Our texts this term are The Iron Man and Krindlekrax
We have really enjoyed these books. We have produced some amazing writing as well as taking part in drama activities and exploring the themes and emotions in the stories.
In Maths we have learn column method addition and subtraction as well as short method multiplication and division. We have practiced how to find fractions of amounts and been securing our knowledge in converting measures. Next we will be tackling time and trying to solve problems involving time and timetables.
In Science we have studied electricity and states of matter. We built circuits and discovered the different elements necessary to allow electricity to flow- it really was a light bulb moment!
We tested materials to find out which ones were conductors and insulators and made electrical safety posters.
Now we have begun to explore solids, liquids and gases.
IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: Year 4 are learning how to create a game in Scratch. The best games will be entered into a competition with 7 other schools in the area. The deadline is in January- HAPPY CODING!
